Okay, I want to talk about Rush for a little bit. In Snakes and Arrows. the last song, We Hold On. I noticed a little beat skip right before the 2nd verse begins. It might just be my CD but I was wondering if anyone else heard it too?
I've been thinking about dream theater's live albums lately and which one would be considered the best. For me, Once in a LIVEtime seems to be doing it for me. There are three solo's in there, they play sections of some songs, incorperate covers into their songs and some of the songs flow from one to another making me want to listen to the whole thing in order.
Live at Budokan is great but I had trouble with the mixing. Myung, I love you but the bass was just way too loud and I couldn't hear Labrie or Petrucci. But I Love to death that version of Beyond this Life and Instrumedly.
Score would be another top for me. The first disc I love all the songs. They have songs that haven't been released before (except the official bootlegs) and they played at least one song from each album up to Octavarium.... and Octavarium sounds amazing with an orchestra behind it. so does SDoIT. The second disc kinda has to more slower songs like The Answer Lies Within and Vacant. but it picks up again in disc 3
I haven't heard Chaos in Motion or Live at Marquee yet so i have no opinion on them. tell me your thoughts.
So, the prog metal band "Bad Salad" finally released their full length album entitled "Uncivilized"
If you guys have heard it. what do you think of it?
I only listened to the minute shots on Itunes. but from what I've heard, their music is very reminiscent of DT's darker and heavier tracks.
I've fallowed this band ever since they've been doing DT Covers on youtube. Personally, one day, I hope they release a Cover Album.
Sorry I keep posting my Rush related stuff on here. I would go to Rush about this but I don't think they have a forum like to soo....
I was listening to the radio and was completely astonished when I heard Headlong Flight come on. Actually, I was flipping though and I heard the part when Neil was going to town on the Snare, funny how i can recognize a song just from a drum part.
anywho. at the end, the DJ talks a little about the song. Now, at this time, I am so psyched because I heard one of the coolest Rush songs on the radio... and then I hear the DJ say "That song makes me want to vomit. Did I say that out loud?"
I just want to know why some people have such a hate for Rush.
Let's take the Rush label off for like 5 minutes while you listen to the song and try to tell me that it sucks. You can't! It is truly an amazing song. I wanted to slap that DJ
Chester PA was the closest show that my dad was willing to go to. I finally convinced him to buy some tickets when I find out that It's been cancelled and replaced by Atlantic City. There's no way my dad's going to go to AC for a concert.
Come to Hershey sometime?
