Hi all, first time poster here!
I've looked through the available posts and can't find anything related to this.
At 4:32 in "Finally Free", directly after the gun shots, we hear Victoria screaming. Now, I'm about 90% sure this is a sampled sound from a film. Of course, I could be wrong.
Here's my reasoning. There's a film called "Hackers" (1995, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie. See: Wikipedia for "Hackers"). During the film, at 12:40, a snippet of an old, black-and-white film is played. It shows a woman being strangled, and the scream she makes is the exact same as Victoria's. Seriously, check it out. It's pretty undeniable.
Now, IMDb claims that this snippet is a "clip of Stanwyck being killed (when Dade's angry at Kate)" from the 1948 film, "Sorry, Wrong Number". That's not the case. The visual image used in "Hackers" is actually from "Dead of Night" (1945) at approximately 50:45, during the "Haunted Mirror" sequence. However, the audio from the original movie is different when shown in "Hackers"
It's really driving me crazy. It is possible that the sound was originally recorded for "Hackers", and DT simply sampled it from THAT movie. I just don't know what to think.
If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be eternally grateful!
Cheers,
