Calling all Dream Theater fans. Dream Theater want you to be a part of their expansive and extensive history by creating a piece of art that will be showcased to fellow Dream Theater fans across the world on their upcoming tour. If you want to be woven into the fabric of the band's upcoming tour, then here's your chance.
The band is launching a contest on May 9 that runs through May 31, where fans can submit a video response to the song "Lost Not Forgotten" from A Dramatic Turn of Events on Dream Theater's YouTube page.
The winning video will be selected on June 4.
It will then be projected on screens on the stage while the band performs the song on its summer tour.
That's what we call a grand prize and a fan dream come true! The video will be a part of the band's visual and live history.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. “Dream Theater Video Contest” (“Contest”) and these
official rules are governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of the United States. Valid only
to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18)
years of age and older. Employees and their immediate families of Roadrunner Records, Inc., The All
Blacks U.S.A., Inc. and any of their affiliated companies (collectively and individually referred to herein
as “Roadrunner”) or their respective Internet, product and service providers, trustees, subsidiaries,
franchisees, licensees, directors, officers, employees, agents, independent contractors and advertising
and promotion agencies (collectively and individually, the “Contest Entities”) are not eligible to enter.
All federal, state, local laws and regulations apply. Void outside of the fifty (50) United States and
District of Columbia, and where prohibited, taxed, licensed or restricted by law.
PROMOTION PERIOD. This Contest begins at 12:00 AM EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST) on May 11,
2012 and ends at 11:59 PM (EST) on May 31, 2012 (“Contest Period”). This Contest is sponsored and
administered by Dream Theater (“Artist”). Participants agree to be bound by these official rules and the
final decision of the band members of Artist.
TO ENTER. Participants will produce a video clip for the Dream Theater song “Lost Not Forgotten” using
a recording of the song which participants will provide. The video clip will be sent to Artist as a video
response to the video posted by Artist on its youtube channel regarding the contest.
Only one (1) entry per person. By entering, Participants acknowledge compliance with these official
rules including all eligibility requirements.
SELECTION. Artist will choose the winning video (“Video”) and the Video will be broadcast during Artist’s
live performances during their upcoming tour leg. There will be one (1) Contest Winner. The final
decision is at the sole discretion of the Artist.
All entries shall be the property of Artist. No ownership of the master recording or musical composition
will be transferred to the participant. All such rights to the master and or the musical composition shall
remain with Artist, Roadrunner Records and/or the publisher of the musical composition, as applicable.
If a prospective winner is found ineligible or fails to comply with these Official Rules, his/her opportunity
to have the Video broadcast at live performances of the Artist will be forfeited and an alternate winner
will be selected.
Artist and/or Roadrunner will contact the potential Contest Winner through his or her email account
and/or by any contact information provided therein. Entrants are responsible for maintaining up-to-date
contact information. Contest Winner, where lawful, will be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility,
Publicity/Liability Release, and any other paperwork Artist and/or Roadrunner Records deem necessary
for fulfillment of Contest obligations or the exercise of rights granted herein, which must be returned
within five (5) days of attempted winning selection notification. If documents are not returned on a
timely basis, or if notification is returned as non-deliverable, or if winner is found to be ineligible or not
in compliance with these Official Rules, such selection will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate
winner.
VIDEO USE. For one dollar ($1.00) and good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency
of which is hereby acknowledged, including but not limited to the promotional value of having his or
her Video broadcast at live performances of Artist and/or on Artist’s youtube channel, all participants
hereby acknowledge and agree that: (a) the Video shall be deemed a “work made for hire” in favor of
Artist within the meaning of the United States Copyright Act and that Artist will exclusively own the
worldwide copyrights in and to the Video; (b) all Participants, including but not limited to the Winner,
will not receive any other compensation for any public performance or broadcast of the Video as
described herein. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained herein, any exploitation will be at
the sole discretion of Artist.
The Contest Winner, upon notification thereof, may be required, at Artist’s election, to sign an affidavit
affirming that he or she understands and agrees that (a) the Video shall be deemed a “work made
for hire” in favor of Artist within the meaning of the United States Copyright Act and that Artist will
exclusively own the worldwide copyrights in and to the Video; (b) Contest Winner and all Participants
will not have any right to distribute or exploit, in any way, the videos they submit, either in their entirety
or any portion thereof; (c) other than as provided for herein, Contest Winner and all Participants will
not be entitled to any royalties or compensation in regard to services rendered hereunder or the results
thereof; (d) the master recording used in the Video is copyrighted material and Contest Winner and/
or any other Participants, acquire no rights in said material, and (e) Contest Winner and/or any other
Participants will not make any claims of any type in the future in regard to copyright ownership in the
Video, the master recording in the Video or the musical compositions embodied therein, either in their
entirety or any portion thereof.
GENERAL CONDITIONS. Artist, Roadrunner Records, and any of their Internet, product and service
providers and their respective parent companies, trustees, subsidiaries, franchisees, affiliates, licensees,
directors, officers, employees, agents, independent contractors, and advertising and promotion
agencies make no warranties, express or implied.
PRIVACY STATEMENT. Your personal information, in conjunction with this Contest, will be utilized by
the Contest Entities for the purpose of selecting a prizewinner and as set forth in Roadrunner’s privacy
statements. Unless otherwise authorized by you, your information will not be sold, rented or given to

Notwithstanding the privacy statement and policy, if selected as the prizewinner, prizewinner agrees,
except where prohibited, to grant Artist and Roadrunner Records and its parent companies, subsidiaries,
franchisees, affiliates, licensees and agents to use his or her name, entry contents, visual and audio
likeness, biographical data and statements for any purpose, including but not limited to any commercial
or publicity purpose, in perpetuity and throughout the universe, in any and all media now known or
hereafter devised, without further notice or additional compensation or consideration.
LIMITATIONS ON LIABILITY. By participating, entrants, winners and companions, and each of their
agents, assigns and successors release Artist and Roadrunner Records from any and all liability for any
costs or expenses including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death, resulting
from entry in the Contest or any Contest-related activity and from any and all liability for any injuries,
losses or damages of any kind caused by any submission, or any portion thereof, and for any claims
based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. Notwithstanding
the foregoing, in the event that the preceding release is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction
to be invalid or void for any reason, the entrant agrees that, by entering the Contest, (i) any and all
disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or any prizes
awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any claims,
judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated
with entering the Contest, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will any
entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive,
incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise
increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
The Contest Entities are not responsible for any kind of computer transmission, electronic, hardware,
internet, software, network, technical or telephone failures and any damaged, delayed, garbled,
illegible, incomplete, late, lost, misaddressed, misdirected, stolen entries. In addition, the Contest
Entities are not responsible if the Contest cannot take place or if any prize cannot be awarded due to
cancellations, delays or interruptions due to acts of God, acts of war, natural disasters, weather or acts
of terrorism. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, entry will be deemed submitted
by the authorized account holder of the email account provided. The “authorized account holder” is
defined as the natural person who is assigned the email account.
Participant agrees that by entering this Contest, the Contest Entities may seek damages from Participant
if Participant deliberately damages the Artist’s youtube channel website or any other website in
conjunction with Participant’s partaking in this Contest or if Participant interferes with the legitimate
operation of this Sweepstakes, in violation of civil or criminal law.
If, in Artist’s exclusive judgment, this Contest becomes compromised in any way, Artist reserves the
right to withdraw the Contest offer, cancel any method of entry and/or select the prize winners from all
entries received prior to the withdrawal.
IN NO EVENT WILL THE CONTEST ENTITIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES
OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES

Progressive hard rock icons DREAM THEATER were honored to receive several awards from the leading Japanese rock magazine BURRN! while on their current Asian tour. The band’s latest album A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS won Best Album and Best Front Cover in the 2011 readers poll. In addition to the album being chosen by Burrn! readers, Japanese heavy metal radio personality Masa Ito picked John Petrucci as Best Guitarist and Jordan Rudess as Best Keyboardist in the 2011 awards. Japan was one of the 14 countries where A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS had a Top Ten debut.
The band—James LaBrie (Vocals), John Myung (Bass), John Petrucci (Guitar and Vocals), Jordan Rudess (Keyboards and Continuum) and Mike Mangini (Drums) --received the awards this week while on tour in Japan in support of the globally successful album A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS (Roadrunner), which features the Grammy-nominated song “On The Backs Of Angels” (Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance category). The Asian tour began April 19 in Seoul, Korea, bringing the group to Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Bangkok, Thailand, where it concludes May 8.
“We want to express a heartfelt thank you to Burrn! Magazine, Masa Ito and all of our fans in Asia and around the world who not only voted for us in the readers poll but continue to support us every day,” DREAM THEATER said in response to receiving the awards. “All of you keep the dream alive and for that we are eternally grateful.”

DREAM THEATER have announced a second North American leg of a world tour in support of their acclaimed and globally successful album A DRAMATIC TURN OF EVENTS (Roadrunner). The progressive hard rock icons who’ve sold in excess of 10 million records and DVDs worldwide will launch their summer dates June 15 in Rochester, NY and wrap July 21 in Chester, PA. The tour includes stops at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ plus a two-night engagement at the Paramount Theater on Long Island, NY.
Joining DREAM THEATER, starting June 16 in Columbus, Ohio and for the rest of the tour, is special guest Crimson Projekct featuring Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Markus Reuter, Julie Slick and Tobias Ralph. They’ll be performing the songs of progressive rock legends King Crimson.
For the past few months DREAM THEATER has been touring around the world including visits to Europe and Mexico and are set to begin an Asian tour on April 19 in Seoul. The tour will bring the group to Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan and will conclude May 8 in Bangkok Thailand.
