They didn't use a drum machine to record the album!!! Mike Mangini is the drummer on A Dramatic Turn of Events, however, the album was written without a drummer and John Petrucci used something to create the foundation for the drum part, and I vaguely recall him saying that he used logic. |

Petrucci wrote the drum parts on the computer. Mangini performed the actual parts for the album |
