Dream Theater

I just thought as I (All of us, duh!) am getting older, how will younger generations appreciate Dream Theater music the way it had an impact on us? I mean those innocent babies today, it just makes me sad that when we're gone they won't experience Dream Theater music (Of course they can hear it through the CD's but not anymore on live as all of us are getting old) like what we're experiencing now!

Probably the same way we experienced bands like Yes, King Crimson, and other prog bands that never attained legitimate mainstream mainstay status. Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Rush were all of the same broad range of intelligently-written, extravagantly-presented rock music that incorporated influences far beyond the scope of traditional rock and roll as Yes and King Crimson but unlike them PF, Gen, and Rush had sustained top 40 success (PF with Dark Side/The Wall, Rush with Permanent Waves/Moving Pictures/Signals and Genesis with much of the 80s.)

DT hasn't had anything other than Pull Me Under for a radio hit and to most people who discovered them through Guitar Hero/Rock Band they're likely an afterthought whom they'll associate with having a bitch of a time even getting 90% on "hard." So for future generations I assume they'll be readily discovered by those ready to discover quality music and can dig something even if it's not what their friends listen to but not much more than that.

Actually I don't care. I'm just really happy that WE have DT.there are lots of young bands out there doing PM that will appeal to the younger generation. Wait. I'm talking like an old fart. Wait. I am an old fart. Besides DT have a lot of good years left in them.

Honestly, look how low "music" have come. Justin Biber, Rebbeca Black, all the good music is from the 60'-90'.
I mean, people who listen to Dream Theater or other cool bands (of course not as DT), have been listening good music for their whole life. I think that once you get to know one band that is doing something you really connect to, it's easy to move on and open to a whole new world of music.

We had our parents to teach us what is "good music". Now the whole music world just got crappy.

I'm really glad that we are still in the good side :)
