Dream Theater

I may only be classified as one but this one person is in love with the congelation of the most accomplished musicians of our time. The intricacy of scales and chords intertwined with rhthmic progressive notation with full bass method and aesthetic intricate piano musation with a voice that titers on operatic clarity, tone and beauty can only move the soul to expansive melodic orgasm of the heart. My love for Dream Theater began in 1999 and although I feel I am a what is considered a rookie, some of the greatest fans evolve once their exposed and they live, acquire, dream and thirst for the experience to be close to something that soulfully exists for those that have true appreciation for the beauty of Dream Theatre's music. I was lucky enough to see Mangini perform in Pittsburgh this year and again tonight in Cleveland June 22, 2012 at Jacobs. This is an amazing musician like all in the band but Mike brings a cohesiveness to the band that makes all take notice. I love Portnoy and all his contribution but as we all evolve so has Dream Theater. Dont Miss a Show close to you cause if you do. You can't Rock.....Prog that is!!!!!

I was there tonight and I enjoyed the show, even though the mix wasn't good (James was too low in the mix most of the times). I attended the Chicago show last fall and it had a better mix. (True diff venues, indoor vs outdoor, but weather had no bearing on the mix).

I got 10 people to come to the show, 4 of them were first timers. 3 of 4 commented they didn't understand why James left the stage so much. They thought it was odd and didn't care for it. I said I don't hv a good explanation and explained he has done that for 25+ yrs and that probably won't change. (Tonight marked my 15th show going bck to FII.).

Setlist was the same as the rest of the shows played this week (see Setlist.fm)

Had great seats for last night's show in Cleveland. They put on a terrific show! Loved the set list. I'm glad I was able to see them live, especially now with the addition of Mike Mangini.

I couldnt believe the low crowd and apparently this has been an issue on the tour.. James imploring us to "bring your friends" next time was telling.

I really enjoyed the show though minus the crummy vocal mix. Nautica must be a chalengng place to mix. Only csoby stills and nash have sounded great there for me. Ive seen some terrible sounding shows there over the years. All in all i loved seeing DT at tower city amphitheater... RIP

I kinda wish they were swapping and A and B setlist like last year, but oh well. Meet and Greet in Austin last year was life changing (maybe also due to the fact that I became engsged 2 hours before), and we'll be seeing them back to bsck next weekend!
They are easily by far not even close my favorite band in history, for every reason you can think of. Technical amazement, very deep emotional melodies, they actually have something to say in the lyrics, and the diversity of musical styles, its all incredible and mind blowing to me!
Became a fan in 2000, and im 35 now and shall remain a fan forever!

How bad was the attendance?

I went to the Cincinnati show last night, and didn't notice too many empty seats (although I couldn't see the balcony area). I wondered about having three shows in Ohio though. In the past, I've driven to whichever city they hit in Ohio, whether that be Cincy, Cbus, or Cleveland. Just wondering if maybe they oversaturated the state on this tour, or if the fact that they aren't rotating set lists means people who once went to all the Ohio shows only decided to see one this time?

@flat6turboGT1: I mean, I don't have a sense of how many Nautica holds. But if you've ever been there, the two side bleachers were mostly empty and there was plenty of space in the middle set of general admission bleachers. I think the band was probably bummed because Cleveland does have a great music scene, especially when it comes to prog and AOR bands.

Even down in the assigned seats/pricier tickets where I was, there were some empty seats in our row and some noticeable gaps throughout except for maybe the first few rows (I was 7th row with 2 buddies). I also bought my tickets in presale and thought I did a killer job getting 7th row seats. Just for laughs, I went on Ticketmaster the afternoon just hours before the show and there were 3 seats available in row C (the third row) dead center.

It wasn't like nobody was there, but it was jarring to see how few they drew when they used to really pack the now-defunct Tower City Amphitheater. Apparently tickets were a lot pricier on this tour; I personally don't remember and I'd pay anything to see these guys. But apparently, several others didn't.

That sucks. I went to one show at Nautica before so sort of know what it's like. I can remember being at a DT show (Octavarium tour?) at the Agora that looked like it was OVERsold and thoroughly enjoyed it.

LaBrie actually made a comment between songs last night to the effect of "who ever said you didn't get your money's worth buying a Dream Theater ticket" so wonder if that was pertaining to other shows.

I skipped the Cbus show because I was able to get 5th row tickets to the Cincy show after what I would guess were a bunch of promo tickets at the front of the main section opened up just a few days before the show. I paid $67 for those tickets, which I thought were well worth it compared to what I've paid to see Rush the last couple times. But I honestly can't remember what I had paid for DT tickets in the past.
